Metro Madrid

The 2nd European Subway, Metro de Madrid’s main objective is to continue being the most socially viable rail transport company in the metropolitan area of Madrid.

294 Stations, 16 lines of Metro and Tram

As a metropolitan transport company, the aim of Metro de Madrid is to meet the mobility requirements of society with a quality service and in a manner compatible with the environment, thus contributing to the sustainability of its geographical surroundings.

Metro de Madrid therefore has an Environmental Management System implemented, on the basis of Standard UNE–EN ISO 14001, as the most effective and efficient way of conducting its activity with the least impact on the environment.

Bus System (EMT)

The Municipal Transport Company has a fleet of 2,068 buses to operate a total of 228 lines.

EMT buses serve 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, transporting more than 425 million customers, covering 3,618 kilometers and a total of 10,045 stops
